Teresa's Brussels sprouts
Ingredients
- 500g Brussels sprouts
- 0.5 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vinegar
- olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 shallot
- (optional) a rasher of bacon
- balsamic vinegar
- a little salt
Method
- Peel, cross and boil the sprouts with the sugar and vinegar for about five minutes
- Fry the garlic and shallots (and maybe bacon bits) in olive oil
- Add the sprouts and toss ‘em about
- Season with balsamic vinegar and salt to taste
